Evolution and ADL Registry
OutStart Announces Evolution for ADL Registry

"OutStart, a leading provider of eKnowledge software solutions for learning and knowledge-sharing, on May 22, 2007 announced the availability of OutStart Evolution for Advanced Distributed Learning Registry (ADL Registry.) The product offers the first automated, practical means for military and government agencies to register e-learning content to the ADL Registry for repurpose and reuse, eliminating an otherwise arduous, manual process.

The ADL Registry is a newly operational registration system that has been mandated for distributing e- learning content in the U.S. military and across government organizations. The vision for the ADL Registry is to support content reuse, re-sequencing, and delivery across the often proprietary LMS and LCMS environments."

Globalization of SCORM
Stewardship of SCORM Moving to International Arena

"The Defense Department is relinquishing the stewardship of SCORM, a collection of standards for e- learning interoperability, so that the initiative can more readily fulfill its purpose as an international e-learning standard.

SCORM will move from the Defense Department's Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) organization, which started the initiative, to the International Federation for Learning, Education & Training Systems Interoperability (LETSI). LETSI is being designed as an international collaboration of government agencies, non-profit organizations, and for profit companies, which are vested in interoperable learning, education, and training systems."
