OutStart Announces Evolution for ADL Registry
"OutStart, a leading provider of eKnowledge software solutions for learning and knowledge-sharing, on May 22, 2007 announced the availability of OutStart Evolution for Advanced Distributed Learning Registry (ADL Registry.) The Joint Knowledge Development and Distribution Capability (JKDDC) Launches the Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Portal
"The Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative is proud to inform the ADL Community of the completion of a major milestone in Transforming DoD Training. On Monday, April 30, 2007, the Joint Knowledge Development and Distribution Capability (JKDDC) will launch the Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Portal. With this launch, DoD, NATO, multinational and interagency users can access the JKO enterprise portal. Additionally, JKO is integrated with and can be accessed through Defense Knowledge Online (DKO). JKO includes the latest Advanced Distributed Learning technologies including the JFCOM Joint Warfighting Center learning management system (LMS)." Stewardship of SCORM Moving to International Arena
"The Defense Department is relinquishing the stewardship of SCORM, a collection of standards for e- learning interoperability, so that the initiative can more readily fulfill its purpose as an international e-learning standard. SCORM will move from the Defense Department's Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) organization, which started the initiative, to the International Federation for Learning, Education & Training Systems Interoperability (LETSI). LETSI is being designed as an international collaboration of government agencies, non-profit organizations, and for profit companies, which are vested in interoperable learning, education, and training systems."
