Challange
In 2001, the U.S. Navy was conducting research on the feasibility and usability of tools in the creation, storage, and retrieval of metadata. The U.S. Navy had countless hours of training to produce and very few ways of tracking these pieces of courseware.

Opportunity
JCA Solutions was awarded a SBIR grant to complete research and development into the feasibility of metadata tools and uses for these tools.

 

Challange
In 2003, Defense Acquisition University was beginning projects involving the use of SCORM, and needed to quickly bring their staff up to speed.

Opportunity
JCA Solutions created a custom five-day training session for the group, complete with customized software to ease the transition into working with the new specifications.

Challange
In 2005, the U.S. Army at Ft. Leonard Wood had a need for creating asset metadata for all html pages, documents, graphics, audio, and media elements. Creating asset metadata was such an undertaking that many programs to create asset metadata within the Army were shelved due to the unavailability of robust tools.

Opportunity
JCA Solutions used the Metadata Generator Pro, the current COTS product that is already in use in the Army, and upgrade the functionality to meet the Army's current needs for metadata creation, storage, and retrieval. The resulting product will be used Army-wide in 2006.
